Nose – moist, soft, free from snot or discharge and your pet should be able to breath freely
Eyes – bright, clear and comfortable open, free from tears or discharge, minimal tear staining, the fleshy area around the eyeball should be light pink
Ears – fleshy pink colour inside, free of bad smells, no build-up of wax or excessive hair, ear flap should be flat
Teeth – clean, white, free of cracks, breaks or staining with no missing teeth (unless that’s normal for them!)
Gums – fleshy pink colour (some might have darker pigments so it’s best to check what’s normal for your pet)
Coat – free of knots, ticks, fleas, flea dirt other parasites or dandruff
Skin – free of any rashes, lumps, bumps, bald patches, no bad smells, no wounds, discharge or infections
Legs – free from wounds, able to comfortably support themselves getting up and down, free of lumps and bumps
Nails – strong, not too long and at no risk of into their pads
Tail – in a normal position for your pet, able to move freely, clean and free of any poop underneath, no sores on or around it
